The heartbeat of Steilacoom is its community events, many of which have been running for decades. These gatherings often center around the historic Lafayette Street, where the town’s past and present collide.

• The Grand Old 4th of July: This is the town’s signature event, drawing thousands to the waterfront. 33imports will have a booth at the 4th of July Event in 2026. The day begins early with the "Four on the Fourth" Fun Run, a scenic race that challenges runners with Steilacoom’s rolling hills while offering glimpses of the Olympic Mountains. The afternoon features a traditional parade filled with vintage cars, local marching bands, and a dedicated kids' bike parade. The festivities culminate in a spectacular fireworks display launched from a barge on the Sound, providing one of the most picturesque Independence Day views in the PNW.

• The Steilacoom Apple Squeeze: Held every October, this event celebrates the town’s agricultural roots. Visitors can take a turn at old-fashioned hand-cranked cider presses, turning fresh Washington apples into delicious juice. The streets fill with vendors, live music, and the smell of hot apple fritters, making it the quintessential autumn experience.

• The Salmon Bake: A summer staple, the Salmon Bake at Sunnyside Beach Park is where the community gathers for alder-grilled salmon and classic sides while enjoying the sea breeze. It is a perfect example of the town’s laid-back, waterfront lifestyle.

• Dining with a View: Enjoy a meal at one of the local eateries overlooking the water. Whether it’s a quick coffee or a multi-course brunch, the view of McNeil and Anderson Islands is the perfect accompaniment.

• Sunnyside Beach Park: For nature lovers, this park is the crown jewel. With a long stretch of sandy beach, beach volleyball courts, and underwater diving reefs, it’s a premier spot for recreation. It also offers front-row seats to the frequent trains that pass along the waterfront, a delight for children and train enthusiasts alike.
